snugglexpuff:
This isn’t for ‘equality’, this is so you can dress and act provocatively, get drunk off your ass and make bad decisions without having to suffer the consequences.
Having drunken sex with someone and waking up to see that they aren’t that attractive does NOT equal rape. You made a mistake. Fucking suck it up and deal with it.
Stop making us true equality searching women look like morons.
Excuse me? You don’t get to decide if someone else was raped or not. You’re not them. You can’t know if they consented or not. Further, if they’re drunk, they probably can’t consent to sex, and if you decide to have sex with a drunk person, you better be prepared for possible rape accusations after.
Did I mention that what you’re wearing has nothing to do with rape? The most commonly worn article of clothing by the victim during a rape was jeans and a tee shirt, and most rapists can’t even remember what their victim was wearing. So, statistically, you’re “safer” from rape by “dressing provocatively”.
Thanks for validating the entire purpose of SlutWalks, though. And calling us “bitches” in your tags? Nice internalized misogyny, bro.
For all of the problems with Slutwalk in general and with specific Slutwalks, there’s something to be said about getting the right kind of people pissed off, to paraphrase Jake “Getting pissed off about your bullshit opinion informed by a culture that tolerates/encourages rape is the first step to not being so full of shit and blaming victims.”
